As teenagers in today's time, you are constantly bombarded with the latest gadgets and tools to make life simple. Now more than ever, we get caught up in the newest technologies, the latest "must-haves" to help us cope with every part of our constantly busy lives. This is the crux of this unit. Your task will be to create a formal business presentation to persuade fellow IHS students to purchase the product that you think every teen must have. This product can be one that is on the market today or something you design on your own. The product you choose should be unique in that you are not suggesting an item that most teenagers already own. If it is on the market today, give it a twist. Add a new feature that would make everyone want to upgrade to. If it hasn't been created yet, think outside the box and design it yourself.
To start, think of something you use every day which helps you handle your stressful life that you couldn't live without or consider something you wish was created to help you handle a certain part of your life that causes you the most stress. Brainstorm a list of things you do from the minute you wake up until you go to bed. What do you wish could be easier? Where could you use some help? In essence, become Willy Wonka. Make the gum that's a meal. "It's the most amazing, fabulous, sensational gum in the whole world....This little piece of gum is a three-course dinner."
Topic ideas or suggestions: Exercise equipment (shoes, accessories, machines) Sleep aids (bedding, soothing sounds or scents) Organizational tools (calendars, reminders, schedulers) Food/Nutrition (cooking help, kitchen gadgets, food products) Electronics (portable devices, multiple new features) Personal Hygiene (washing clothes, keeping clothes newer longer, make a tedious task more simple)
The list is endless!!!!!
Product list from previous students:
Blender, electric toothbrush, bike, running shoes, deodorant patches, mattress, toaster oven, camera, cell phone, GPS, password saver, sports watch, mini-frige, mechanical pencil, iMachine, gum.
Use this worksheet to gather your ideas and organize your product qualities
